If you like foamy and frothy steamed milk to top your coffee but don’t have a milk frother, here’s an easy hack that works surprisingly well. All you need is a jar with a lid that doesn’t leak (a Mason jar is perfect) and a microwave.
The Best Milk Frothers
Frothed milk is a must-have for cappuccinos and lattes. Which model can create the perfect foam at home?
SEE OUR WINNER- Fill the jar no more than halfway with cold whole milk. Put the lid on tightly and shake the jar vigorously—like a cocktail shaker—for a full 30 seconds.
- Take off the lid and you’ll see that the milk is mildly foamy and bubbly.
- Put the open jar in the microwave and run it on high for 30 seconds. The foam will rise and become more stable as the milk heats.
And that’s it: Foamy, frothy, steamy milk in 1 minute, ready to make your morning coffee feel just a little bit fancier.
