Why This Recipe Works
This simple, homemade blend of chili powder and spices was designed and tested to replace one store-bought packet of taco seasoning. Using chili powder as the primary ingredient gave our taco seasoning a full, robust chile profile, while cumin added its familiar earthiness. Paprika, granulated garlic, onion powder, and oregano rounded out the seasoning. A bit of cornstarch added saucy body to the juices in a skillet of ground beef, keeping the mixture from being either too soupy or too dry.

- Place all ingredients in airtight container and shake to thoroughly combine. (Taco seasoning can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 month.)
