Maple-Cinnamon Cream Cheese Spread

Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature2 tablespoons maple syrup 1 tablespoon brown sugar ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Before You Begin

Our Zucchini Bread (see related recipe) is good enough to stand on its own, but a slather of cream cheese makes it even better. Flavor that cream cheese with jam, spices, or citrus zest and you have something memorable. These spreads will keep in a covered container in the refrigerator for a week.

Instructions

  1. With rubber spatula, combine cream cheese. maple syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon in bowl until smooth.

Why This Recipe Works

To make it easy to incorporate the ingredients into our Maple-Cinnamon Cream Cheese Spread, we softened the cream cheese at room temperature for at least one hour. Maple syrup and brown sugar added flavor and sweetness, and cinnamon contributed a welcome spiciness.
