Spicy Lemon-Garlic Sauce for Shrimp Skewers

Ingredients

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces¼ cup lemon juice (2 lemons)3 garlic cloves, minced½ - ¾ teaspoon red pepper flakes ⅛ teaspoon table salt 1 disposable aluminum pie plate ⅓ cup minced fresh parsley

Before You Begin

This recipe is designed to accompany either Charcoal- or Gas-Grilled Shrimp Skewers. For a spicier sauce, use the greater amount of red pepper flakes.

Instructions

  1. Combine melted butter, lemon juice, garlic, pepper flakes, and salt in disposable pie plate. Cook over hotter side of grill, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted, about 1 1/2 minutes; slide to cooler side of grill and grill shrimp, adding parsley just before serving.

Why This Recipe Works

For a bright sauce to accompany grilled shrimp, we combined fresh lemon juice with spicy red pepper flakes and garlic. Melted butter nicely complemented the sweet shrimp.
