Why This Recipe Works
Flavored syrups are supereasy to craft, and they make a delicious addition to your “fridge pantry” that can be used in countless ways. This syrup celebrates the complex flavor of cardamom: sweet, peppery, pungent, and aromatic, with notes of pine, eucalyptus, menthol, citrus, and flowers. It can be used in cocktails (try substituting it for the sugar in your next Old Fashioned); to lightly season fruit; and to flavor sparkling water, iced coffee, and tea.
