Eggnog Whipped Cream Topping

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream 1 teaspoon granulated sugar 1 tablespoon bourbon ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Grated nutmeg for dusting

Before You Begin

Brown sugar and sour cream aren’t the only ways to jazz up plain old whipped cream. Concentrated flavors from jams, juices, and liqueurs all work well. These whipped toppings are perfect with fruit desserts, cakes, or ice cream sundaes.

Instructions

  1. Beat heavy cream and granulated sugar to soft peaks. Add bourbon and vanilla extract and beat to stiff peaks. Sprinkle dollops of whipped cream with grated nutmeg when serving.

Why This Recipe Works

We wanted to jazz up a plain whipped cream recipe using ingredients we already had on hand. For a whipped cream recipe inspired by a holiday favorite, we added bourbon and sprinkled the whipped cream with nutmeg. We also made sure the cream was well chilled, which made easy work of whipping it.
