Why This Recipe Works
Broccolini is a bit more delicate than its cousin, so we had to adjust our tried and true broccoli pan-steaming method for our Garlicky Broccolini. We found that sautéing the broccolini before steaming it left us with scorched tips. Also, the florets with thicker stalks didn’t always cook correctly. We split the thicker stalks in half at the base to ensure they cooked evenly.
Many people have never even heard of broccolini, so we stuck with traditional, familiar flavors for our Garlicky Broccolini, like olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
