Chocolate-Banana Milkshake

Ingredients
18 ounces (3 cups) vanilla ice cream 1 ripe banana, peeled and halved¼ cup milk ¼ cup malted milk powder 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder Pinch salt

Our favorite vanilla ice cream is Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla.
Instructions
- Let ice cream soften on counter for 15 minutes. Process banana in food processor until smooth, about 1 minute, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Add ice cream, milk, milk powder, cocoa, and salt and process until smooth, about 1 minute. Pour into chilled glasses and serve.

Why This Recipe Works
To get the texture and consistency we wanted for these milkshakes—smooth, rich, and sippable through a straw—we ditched the blender and pulled out the food processor. The heat and size of the processor blade breaks down the ice crystals both evenly and more efficiently. We used vanilla ice cream as the base and transformed it by pureeing into it a ripe banana, along with malted milk powder and cocoa powder for optimal chocolate flavor.
