Each of the six Cook’s Country magazine issues we publish annually has around 30 recipes. That means our output is in the neighborhood of 180 recipes each year.
We stand behind the quality of all our recipes—something not every food media company can say with confidence—and naturally have our own personal favorites that were published in 2023 (looking at you, Shanghai Scallion Oil Noodles). But what were your favorites, the recipes most clicked on by you, our readers?

Air-Fryer Jalapeño Poppers
The list starts in the “it girl” appliance of the moment, the air fryer. Our recipe for Air-Fryer Jalapeño Poppers was the runaway winner for the most-clicked on Cook’s Country recipe of 2023. These spicy, cheesy, bacon-wrapped morsels look amazing, taste even better, and are relatively easy to assemble and “fry” (air fryers don’t actually fry; rather, they rely on intense convection heat to brown the outside of food).

Stuff, wrap, and pop into the air fryer—three simple steps to this crowd-pleasing party snack.
Get the RecipeRhubarb Jam
In second place was Rhubarb Jam, a true celebration of spring and proof that Cook’s Country readers love to cook with the seasons. It’s a refrigerator jam, which means it’s not canned, and with only three ingredients—rhubarb, sugar, and lemon juice—it is quite simple to make (and it keeps beautifully for up to two months in the fridge).
Browned Butter Chocolate Chunk Muffins
Next is our Browned Butter Chocolate Chunk Muffins recipe. The appeal is pretty much all there in the name. These moist, generously sized, bakery-style muffins employ browned butter for enhanced depth of flavor. They are guaranteed to help you start your day with a smile.

Get the RecipeQuesabirria Tacos
Birria is having a moment, and the popularity of our Quesabirria Tacos recipe adds fuel to that delicious fire. Making these lush beef tacos is not a quick weeknight affair (but making these unbelievably good Shrimp Tacos is), but this is a case where the wait is worth it. The recipe was inspired by our On the Road visit to Rollies Mexican Patio in Tucson.
Roasted Chicken Thighs with Potatoes and Green Beans
At Cook’s Country, we are known for our expertise in weeknight cooking. The popularity of our Dinner Tonight recipe cards is a testament to that. Our fifth-most clicked on recipe of 2023 was Roasted Chicken Thighs with Potatoes and Green Beans. This gem is on the table in less than an hour and uses some smart tricks (like microwaving the vegetables to jump-start their cooking before roasting, and searing the chicken thighs to enhance their crispiness). A few reader comments say it all: “Unbelievably delicious for very little effort.” “Definitely adding this gem to my recipe arsenal.” “This is a keeper recipe for sure, its sum is more than its parts.”
