Tater Tot and Sausage Pizza

Tater Tot and Sausage Pizza

Ingredients

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1 pound pizza dough 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (2 cups)8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (2 cups)1 pound frozen tater tots 8 ounces hot Italian sausage, casings removed, broken into 3⁄4-inch pieces⅓ cup sour cream 2 tablespoons water 1 tablespoon lime juice ½ teaspoon chipotle chile powder ⅛ teaspoon table salt 2 scallions, sliced thin

Before You Begin

If the dough springs back in step 1, let it rest for a few minutes and then stretch it again. Do not thaw the tater tots.

Instructions

  1.  Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 500 degrees. Brush rimmed baking sheet with oil. Roll dough into 16 by 10-inch rectangle, about ¼ inch thick, on lightly floured counter. Transfer dough to prepared sheet.
  2.  Sprinkle cheeses evenly over dough, leaving ½-inch border. Distribute tater tots and sausage evenly over cheese. Bake until tater tots are golden, sausage is cooked through, and crust is deep brown, 20 to 22 minutes.
  3.  Stir sour cream, water, lime juice, chile powder, and salt together in bowl. Let pizza cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle with sour cream mixture, sprinkle with scallions, and serve.
