Why This Recipe Works
We replaced the ice called for in most smoothie recipes with frozen fruit. We found that ice diluted the smoothies and, since frozen fruit is flash-frozen in its peak ripeness, it provides the most consistent results. We love using Greek yogurt in the test kitchen, but for these smoothies we preferred plain because of its looser texture. We sweetened the smoothie with a little honey and also added 1/8 teaspoon of salt, which helped bring out the fruit’s overall flavor.
