DIY Bitters Sugar Cubes

Ingredients

¾ cup sugar 2 tablespoons bitters

Before You Begin

You can use any type of bitters you like here.

Instructions

  1. Stir sugar and bitters in bowl until well combined. Transfer mixture to large piece of parchment paper and press into 4-inch square. Use chef's knife to cut sugar into ½-inch cubes, being careful not to cut parchment. Transfer sugar square to rimmed baking sheet and let sit uncovered in cool, dry place for 24 hours. Sugar cubes can be stored in airtight container for up to 48 hours.

Why This Recipe Works

For sugar cubes with neat edges, we started by moistening the sugar with bitters and pressing it firmly into a 4-inch square. We cut the cubes with a knife and let them air-dry before storing them.
