Andrea Geary is a deputy food editor at America's Test Kitchen. She's a breakfast enthusiast, an avid urban cyclist, and a scale evangelist who fervently believes that weighing ingredients is the single fastest way to improve one's baking outcomes. In 2025, Andrea won a James Beard Media Award for her Cook's Illustrated story, "The Art and Science of Kimchi." A Boston-area native, she worked in professional kitchens in the United States and the Scottish Highlands for more than 15 years before joining the CI team in 2009. Andrea is devoted to buttered toast (salted butter, please).
