Garlic Butter

Ingredients
6 medium-large garlic cloves, unpeeled3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened½ teaspoon table salt
Instructions
- Toast garlic cloves in small skillet over medium-low heat, shaking pan occasionally, until fragrant and color of cloves deepens slightly, 5 to 8 minutes. Let garlic cool. Peel and press (or mash) cloves, then, using dinner fork, mash garlic, butter, and salt in small bowl until combined. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Why This Recipe Works
Garlic butter is an easy way to dress up plain vegetables. We needed only a few tablespoons of this recipe to flavor two pounds of blanched or steamed vegetables such as green beans, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, or peas.
