Our list features gear that won or excelled in our rigorous equipment reviews, and we found something for everyone, from indoor pizza ovens to stand mixers. We also found some great deals on the Thermapen ONE and some another favorite thermometers at ThermoWorks.

We’ve also flagged some deals to avoid. These items may look tempting, but they didn’t perform well when we tested them, so we suggest steering clear of them.

Small Appliances

It’s the perfect time to snag that blender or mixer you’ve been eyeing. Here are some small appliance deals that are worth adding to your cart.

KitchenAid 7 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer

KitchenAid 7 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer

Sale Price: $549.99 (15% off of $649.99)

View Deal

Using this stand mixer is a luxurious experience. In testing, it creamed butter and sugar to fluffy heaps, whipped up “smooth as silk” cake batter, and kneaded “gorgeous and elastic” bread dough with ease. We enjoyed the generous capacity; weighty stability; and big, uncoated stainless-steel attachments of this 7-quart model. Read our review.

Breville Barista Express

Breville Barista Express

Sale Price: $549.95 (19% off of $679.99)

View Deal

Our favorite espresso machine is on sale for a limited time. It’s easy enough for beginners to pull a shot from but also allows for maximum customization for those who like to tinker. A powerful boiler heats up water quickly, so you don’t have to wait, unlike with other models we tested. All in all, this is a great time to invest if you’re in the market; we see this selling out quickly. Read our review.

Cosori Original Electric Glass Kettle

Cosori Original Electric Glass Kettle

Sale Price: $23.79 (15% off of $27.99)

View Deal

This electric kettle has a large glass carafe that can hold as much as 56 ounces of water; a light-up power indicator that’s hard to ignore; and a gentle, slow-open lid. The carafe lights up in a purplish-blue color as it starts to heat up, and it shuts off when the water reaches a boil, so it’s easy to tell when the water is ready. We like that the lid opens when you press a button on the back of the handle. Read our review.

T-Fal Ultimate EZ-Clean Fryer

T-Fal Ultimate EZ-Clean Fryer

Sale Price: $109.95 (31% off of $159.99)

View Deal

This electric deep-fryer made food that was almost always perfect and in the same time and number of batches as our Dutch oven. Its large basket holds lots of food and makes it easy to lower and lift that food during use; its high walls and lid contain messes nicely. And although all electric deep-fryers require a bit of work to clean, a built-in filter and handy oil storage container makes the process a bit easier here than with other models. One caveat: This fryer’s temperature range maxes out at around 374 degrees, so it can’t quite fry quick-cooking, high-heat foods, such as tempura, as nicely as a Dutch oven can. Read our review.

Breville Bambino Plus

Breville Bambino Plus

Sale Price: $399.95 (20% off of $499.95)

View Deal

If space is a concern, the more compact version of our favorite espresso machine is also on sale; it’s basically the Barista Express without the grinder. We love this model’s performance, and we enjoy its automatic milk frothing option. Read our review.

KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper

KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper

Sale Price: $54.99 (21% off of $69.99)

View Deal

The KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper is small but mighty. It does a stellar job of mincing, dicing, grating, chopping, and blending quickly, and most ingredients turned out uniform. It’s well-made—after we dropped it five times off the counter, all its parts remained intact and the processor itself was able to run. Read our review.

Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop 9600LS/BT-200DZ

Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop 9600LS/BT-200DZ

Sale Price: $112.36 (15% off of $132.19)

View Deal

This induction cooktop has an intuitive and responsive control panel that makes it easy to adjust the time and temperature. It kept cheese fondue at a constant temperature (140 degrees Fahrenheit) for more than 4 hours without scorching. Its 6-inch heating coil works best with smaller cookware, and it took a bit longer to heat up oil for deep frying. Read our review.

KitchenAid Classic Series 4.5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

KitchenAid Classic Series 4.5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

Sale Price: $299.99 (25% off of $399.99)

View Deal

This mixer’s across-the-board performance knocked out many competitors that were bigger and much more costly. From whipping billowy egg whites to kneading a double batch of pizza dough, it capably tackles every mixing job. It’s a great mixer on sale for a great price. The KitchenAid Artisan 5 Quart and KitchenAid Artisan Mini 3.5 Quart stand mixers are also on sale. Read our review.

Braun MultiQuick 7 Hand Blender

Sale Price: $79.95 (27% off of $109.95)

View Deal

We were impressed by this model’s comfortable grip and well-placed trigger-style power button, which increased or decreased the speed depending on how hard we pressed. Its scalloped, bell-shaped blade guard—which had no vents or gaps—kept food circulating freely and prevented splattering. This blender also consistently churned out silky soups and smooth mayonnaise. It was short enough to maneuver fairly well, but its weight fatigued many testers’ hands after about 30 to 45 seconds of blending. Read our review.

KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker

KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker

Sale Price: $299.99 (25% off of $399.99)

View Deal

This rice cooker turned out perfectly cooked brown and white rice every time. We were delighted with how easy it was to operate; the responsive touch screen shows you a big selection of menu options. You choose the type of rice or grain and the desired texture (firm or soft), and then you add the amount you’re cooking. The screen then tells you the total weight (in cups, grams, or ounces) as the built-in scale measures. You don’t need to add water up to a specific line in the bowl as with other machines. Instead, you fill a water reservoir attached to the machine ahead of time, and the machine dispenses the correct volume for the amount and type of rice you want to cook. Read our review.

Cosori Air Fryer Pro LE

Sale Price: $84.95 (15% off of $99.99)

View Deal

This highly rated air fryer is a breeze to use. Selecting menu options on the responsive touch screen is straightforward and intuitive. This air fryer cooks everything quickly and within the recipes’ suggested time. We liked the lock button on the handle of its drawer, located where our thumbs naturally fall when grabbing the drawer. Pressing the lock button releases the drawer from the machine and automatically stops cooking, adding an additional layer of safety. The capacity is a bit smaller than our winner, but for households of one to two, it’s great. Read our review.

bella 1.5qt Slow Cooker

bella 1.5qt Slow Cooker

Sale Price: $16.99 (15% off of $19.99)

View Deal

Our favorite mini slow cooker warmed and cooked food well at several different temperature settings; cheese stayed perfectly liquid without breaking for 2 hours. It has easy-to-hold handles and a bright indicator light that lets us know when it’s on. Read our review.

GE 2-Slice Toaster

GE 2-Slice Toaster

Sale Price: $49.00 (17% off of $59.00)

View Deal

We like this affordable toaster, which is sleek and produces relatively evenly toasted slices of white bread and bagels in under 2 minutes. Its simple controls are easy to use, with a dial that makes it straightforward to adjust the darkness setting. The sides and top of the toaster get hot during use, so be sure not to have anything touching it. Read our review.

Hamilton Beach Electric Knife Set with Fork and Case

Hamilton Beach Electric Knife Set

Sale Price: $24.95 (19% off of $30.95)

View Deal

This electric knife performed and handled very similarly to our top choice. It did a good job of slicing skin-on turkey and chicken breast. Its flexible blades hewed closely to the bone as we broke down the roasts, so we could get as much meat off as possible, and the knife made clean, intact slices. It’s easy and comfortable to operate, with a start button located at a natural position on the underside of the handle. We liked that it came with a storage case, though we didn’t need the carving fork that’s also included in the set. Read our review.

KitchenAid 5-Speed Ultra Power Hand Mixer

KitchenAid 5-Speed Ultra Power Hand Mixer

Sale Price: $44.99 (25% off of $59.99)

View Deal

This hand mixer lets you easily adjust between speeds. Though it ran into a bit of trouble when mixing oats and chocolate chips into stiff cookie dough, it eventually powered through and combined everything efficiently and effectively. It’s also very lightweight, which makes it easy to maneuver while mixing. Read our review.

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

Sale Price: $319.95 (20% off of $399.95)

View Deal

This air-fryer toaster oven consistently made the best food of any model we tested. We liked its clearly labeled knobs and digital interface that displayed the time, temperature, and cooking setting. It made excellent toast; produced tender, browned broiled asparagus; and made air-fryer french fries and chicken Parmesan on par with recipes made in our favorite traditional air fryer. Because it’s such a large enclosed space and the air-fryer basket is made from uncoated metal, the oven can be a bit of a pain to clean. This model can also accommodate more food than our favorite air fryer, which is helpful if you frequently cook for more than two people. Read our review.

Toshiba 6-Cup Rice Cooker with Fuzzy Logic

Sale Price: $127.49 (15% off of $149.99)

View Deal

Our runner-up rice cooker model made delicious, evenly cooked rice in all our tests; its cooking bowl just lacked the helpful stay-cool handles of our winner’s. The light-colored measurement labels inside the dark-colored cooking bowl were easy to read. This rice cooker’s timer begins counting down when a cooking cycle starts, and it beeps audibly when a cooking cycle ends. Read our review.

Breville Smart Oven

Sale Price: $199.95 (20% off of $249.95)

View Deal

Our longtime favorite toaster oven aced all our tests, producing evenly baked cookies, tender-crisp vegetables, and crisp-skinned chicken. Its settings are intuitive and easy to use, and it’s programmable, so you can set it to remember your preferences, no fiddling with the dials. Though it took longer than other products to toast (about 5 minutes for medium toast), it was capable of making big batches of perfectly golden slices that were evenly browned from edge to edge. Read our review.

Zojirushi 5.5-Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker & Warmer

Sale Price: $191.99 (18% off of $235.00)

View Deal

Our winning rice cooker is a staff favorite. It consistently produces excellent rice in both small and large batches. The water measurement markings on the cooking bowl, which are clearly labeled in white writing, are easy to read. Charmingly, the machine plays a song both when it starts cooking and when it switches to the “keep warm” setting. A timer counts down the final minutes of cooking. Plus, the handles on its cooking bowl protected our hands from heat. Read our review.

ThermoWorks Thermapen ONE

ThermaWorks Thermapen One

ThermoWorks Sale Price: $80.50 (30% off of $115.00)

View Deal

We love this instant-read thermometer. As its name indicates, it takes just 1 second to measure a temperature. It has a large, grippy handle; a rotating screen with highly legible numbers; and a backlight that goes on when viewing conditions are dim. It’s waterproof to a water depth of 39 inches for 30 minutes, it goes to sleep when not in use, and the display wakes up automatically when you pick up the entire unit. You can now use the thermometer when cooking on induction burners—the engineers at ThermoWorks have taken measures to eliminate the electromagnetic interference that sometimes occurs when you use digital thermometers with induction cooktops. Read our review.

ThermoWorks ThermoPop 2

ThermoWorks Sale Price: $36.75 (25% off of $49.00)

View Deal

The ThermoPop 2 is accurate and fast. Although it’s small, it sports a large, clear, auto-rotating display. (A backlight can be turned on manually.) We wish its handle was just a tad larger and that its long probe folded out, but this is still a great bargain option for folks who don’t want to sink too much money into an instant-read thermometer. Read our review.

YETI Tundra 45

Sale Price: $260.00 (20% off of $325)

View Deal

This ultradurable cooler outpaced every other model in cooling and durability, but it’s a bit heavy for the average person. Ice lasted a whole week, and when we placed sodas and ice packs inside, the cooler kept our beverages below 50°F for more than five days. We also loved its rubber latches, which were easy to close, and its durable rope handles. The cooler’s weight did make it fairly difficult for one person to carry when full. However, this is an excellent option and our top pick for a non-wheeled cooler.

AeroPress Clear Coffee Maker

AeroPress Clear Coffee Maker

Sale Price: $39.94 (20% off of $49.95)

View Deal

This press offers a portable, easy-to-use design, which is perfect for on-the-go brewing, and can be stored neatly in a kitchen cabinet. Coffee from this press is smooth and rich and tastes just as good as the brew from its classic counterpart, if a little weaker than true espresso. The best part: We could adjust the ratio of coffee to water in this press’s spacious brewing chamber, allowing us to make up to 6 ounces of a strong, rich brew that was still tasty when diluted. The Clear comes in different colors; its original version and the large version XL are also heavily discounted. Read our review.

Vacu Vin Original Wine Saver

Vacu Vin Original Wine Saver

Sale Price: $14.98 (25% off of $19.99)

View Deal

Good news for wine lovers—this inexpensive but effective wine saver is on sale. It works by pumping out air from inside the bottle and tightly sealing it, leaving the wine unaffected by outside oxygen and preserving the wine. We liked the simplicity of its design and the small footprint. This bundle comes with two bottle stoppers, but there are options to buy more stoppers. Read our review.

Viking 3-Ply Stainless Steel Roasting Pan with Rack

Viking 3-Ply Stainless Steel Roasting Pan with Rack

Sale Price: $189.99 (32% off of $279.99)

View Deal

Made from tri-ply stainless steel, this highly rated roasting pan is handsome and durable, and it makes beautifully browned, evenly cooked turkey and pork loin. The pan is roomy enough to fit a 20-pound bird, and its bottom is flat, aiding deglazing. Read our review.

Wüsthof Gourmet 4¾-inch Cheese Plane

Sale Price: $34.00 (24% off of $45.00)

Our winning cheese plane produces perfect, clean-edged, even slices of ideal thickness every time. With a comfortable handle, a relatively long blade, and one of the thinnest and most flexible heads in the testing, it was a pleasure to use. Read our review.

Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Containers, 14-Piece Set

Sale Price: $34.95 (13% off of $39.99)

View Deal

We were impressed with the seal quality, durability, and flat lids of this set. The containers each have a pair of latches that clip on securely, reinforcing the gasket’s seal. When we filled the largest container with blue water and shook it vigorously, we were pleased that the seal was so tight that no drops of water escaped. The gaskets were permanently attached; we liked that we didn’t need to remove them to clean the lids and that they were soft and flexible enough for us to easily get in the nooks and crannies with a kitchen sponge. ThermoPro TP920 Dual Probe Bluetooth Meat Thermometer

ThermoPro TP920 Dual Probe Bluetooth Meat Thermometer

Sale Price: $31.99 (36% off of $49.99)

View Deal

Remote probe thermometers allow you to continuously take the temperature of food you’re cooking (great for roasts and barbecue) and receive alerts. Our Best Buy was accurate and easy to set up, with an app that was relatively simple to navigate and use to set temperatures. It came with two probes, so you can simultaneously monitor two pieces of food or food and air temperature. Like all Bluetooth models, the transmission range is fairly limited, so you’ll need to stay relatively close to the thermometer to get data. Read our review.

Espro P7 French Press

Espro P7 French Press

Sale Price: $123.00 (15% off of $144.99)

View Deal

This pricey steel pot is easy to press and delivers cups after cups of clean-tasting coffee, thanks to its dual basket-style nylon micro-mesh filters, a silicone gasket, and silicone filter lid. We also like its solid construction, though the various parts require extra effort to clean. Read our review.

Owala 40oz Tumbler

Owala 40oz Tumbler

Sale Price: $31.99 (20% off of $39.99)

View Deal

We were impressed with this tumbler’s lid design. A large hole for sipping was covered by a sliding plastic tab that in turn housed a secure, gasketed opening for a straw. Users could slide the cover back and forth to choose between sipping and drinking through a straw. The whole setup made for the most watertight straw lid in our lineup. Read our review.

Checkered Chef Cooling Rack (Set of 2)

Sale Price: $19.99 (31% off of $28.99)

View deal

A good wire rack, also known as a cooling rack, is a kitchen essential. A good wire rack should fit snugly inside your baking sheet. That way, any food that you put on it won’t shift around as you move the rack (or the baking sheet it sits in). This simple, durable rack performed well in all our tests—and it’s available now in a set of two. Read our review.

Secura Electric Wine Opener

Sale Price: $13.16 (56% off of $29.99)

View Deal

Sleek, streamlined, and easy to use, this electric wine opener stood out for its design and transparent window, allowing us to see the worm in action. Compared to a traditional corkscrew, it worked just as quickly and sometimes even faster. A streamlined, lightweight, and uncomplicated design made it comfortable to hold. We also appreciated how quiet it was in comparison to the other models. Read our review.

Teakhaus Edge Grain Cutting Board (XL)

Sale Price: $99.00 (29% off of $139.00)

View Deal

The smooth, medium-hard, reversible teak surface of our longtime favorite wooden cutting board offers plenty of room to work. It’s also a pleasure to cut on and requires the least maintenance of all the boards we tested. It picked up some knife scars but was otherwise highly durable, thanks to naturally oily resins that helped condition the board. And it’s a stunner: Sleek, elegant, and richly colored, it was, as one tester noted, “less like a Toyota and more like a Corvette.” Read our review.

BLACK + DECKER 2 Slice Toaster

SKIP: BLACK + DECKER 2 Slice Toaster

We had high hopes for this affordable toaster, which has a very streamlined design that makes it easy to operate. Unfortunately, it just didn’t toast evenly, no matter what settings we tried. Bagels especially had entire sections that appeared completely untoasted. It was also a bit slower than most of the other toasters we tested.

GET INSTEAD: GE 2-Slice Toaster

Fortunately, our favorite conventional toaster is on sale. It produces toasted slices of white bread and bagels more evenly than the Black + Decker model; it’s also a lot faster.

Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

SKIP: KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Attachment

For home cooks who already own a KitchenAid Pro Line stand mixer, this attachment is a tempting option. We approved of its desserts, especially the “lush” sorbet, but quibbled with a few ice crystals. We also liked its speedy churning. However, the two-part paddle design was fussy and difficult to attach, and it was hard to fill the bowl without spilling. Its high horizontal blades got in the way of our thermometer and let clumps of sorbet or ice cream spin around on top unmixed, forcing us to stop the machine often to scrape down the bowl or take the mixture’s temperature.

GET INSTEAD: Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker

Our longtime favorite ice cream maker produced desserts that were “even-textured,” “velvety,” and “delightful.” We also liked its lightweight, compact design and the simplicity of its one-button operation. The paddle blades were fully submerged in the base and did not interfere with our thermometer probe.

Secura Automatic Electric Corkscrew

SKIP: Rabbit Automatic Electric Corkscrew

This electric wine opener was confusing to use and slow to open bottles with both synthetic and natural corks. We couldn’t determine how much pressure we should use for the worm to pierce through the corks. The built-in foil cutter also didn’t work well. All in all, this opener required more effort to open a bottle of wine than other openers.

GET INSTEAD: Secura Electric Wine Opener

We liked this sleek and easy-to-use electric opener. It effortlessly pierced synthetic and natural corks with the push of a button. It opened over 30 bottles of wine in a row without losing charge and easily released all of the corks. It also worked quietly compared to the other models we tested.
